Every airport in India has a public washroom that someone is unhappy about. The complaint, almost always, traces back to one stretch of porcelain — the underside of the toilet rim, where uric scale and limescale build into a visible yellow ring that no amount of brushing alone will shift. Cleaning under the rim is a chemistry problem before it is an effort problem. For two decades the chemistry has been Diversey Taski R6. We built UCLIPSE U6 for the same job, with one small ergonomic change that makes a measurable difference on a busy washroom.
R6 explained
R6 is a thick, clinging, perfumed acidic toilet bowl cleaner — typically a hydrochloric or sulfamic acid system thickened with a polymer to give it the gel viscosity that keeps the active in contact with vertical and curved porcelain long enough to actually dissolve scale. Pour, dwell five minutes, brush, flush. Standard issue across Indian hospitality and FM.
What U6 keeps the same
UCLIPSE U6 Heavy Duty Toilet Bowl Cleaner is the same chemistry class — acidic, thickened, perfumed, scale-and-rust active. The dilution range is the same (neat for heavy soil, 1:5 to 1:10 for daily). The fragrance is a strong masking blend — public washrooms need it to be strong because the only thing worse than a bad-smelling washroom is a bad-smelling washroom that obviously had a chemical poured into it five minutes ago.
What U6 changes
The 500 ml SKU ships with an angled-neck bottle. The neck is bent at about 35 degrees so the housekeeping attendant can dispense product directly under the rim with a wrist motion that does not require crouching. This is not a glamorous innovation. It is the kind of detail that comes from sitting with public-washroom housekeeping teams at airports and observing what they actually do versus what the SOP says they should do.
In the time-and-motion study we ran with one airport account in Hyderabad, the angled-neck bottle reduced the under-rim coverage error rate from about 27 percent to about 4 percent — meaning the next morning's audit found visible scale under the rim in 4 percent of toilets versus 27 percent.
Where it is in use
Two airport accounts (Hyderabad and Cochin). A railway station upgrade contract in Lucknow. A 400-room hotel in Aerocity. A hospital chain in non-clinical-zone WCs. A public-mall housekeeping contract in Bengaluru.
Pack range
500 ml angled-neck for housekeeping carts. 1 L flip-cap, 5 L, 25 L, 200 L for central stores. Cost-in-use is approximately 35 to 45 percent below R6 in the Indian metro market.
