There is a hospitality maxim that a guest's opinion of a property is formed in the first three seconds of walking into the room. A large part of those three seconds is olfactory. The light, the temperature, the fabric — all of those need a few more seconds to register. Smell registers immediately.

Most Indian hotels have outsourced this three-second decision to Diversey Taski R5. UCLIPSE U5 is built so that you can take it back in-house, customise it to your brand, and pay less while doing it.

What R5 actually is

R5 is a perfumed, water-based room and washroom freshener — non-aerosol, IFRA-compliant fragrance, surfactant-stabilised, supplied as a ready-to-use spray or a low-dilution concentrate. The Taski colour code says yellow. The application is unfussy: spritz over fabric, in air, in washrooms, in lift cars, between turn-down rounds.

How U5 is different

UCLIPSE U5 Air Freshener is the same product class — water-based, non-aerosol, IFRA-compliant — manufactured at our Gurgaon plant. The two things that meaningfully differ from R5 are the fragrance choice and the option to design your own.

R5 ships in a small handful of standard scent SKUs in India. U5 ships in ten standard fragrances and an unlimited custom palette.

Custom signature scent

This is the one we get asked for most. A hotel chain decides it wants its own scent across every property — a way of making "the smell of arriving at our hotel" a brand asset. We develop signature fragrances in three to four weeks including sample iteration. Minimum order quantity is 200 litres of finished product. Past commissions have included a coffee-and-cardamom blend for a heritage property in Rajasthan, a green-tea-and-bergamot for a wellness resort in the Himalayas, and a "first rain on warm earth" petrichor scent for an airport lounge that never gets a window open.

Pack and supply

500 ml trigger, 1 L, 5 L, 25 L carboy, 200 L drum. Concentrate variants dilute 1:5 to 1:10. Bulk drum supply is what makes the cost-in-use math work for chains running washroom-freshening across fifty-plus properties — typical landed cost is 40 percent below an equivalent R5 routine.
