When a Guest Touches the Side Table: UCLIPSE U4 as a Taski R4 Alternative

Hospitality is a touch business. A guest's hand on the side table is a brand impression — and it is the work of whatever furniture polish your housekeeping team applied during turn-down. UCLIPSE U4 is built for that moment.

UCLIPSE U4 Furniture Maintainer & Polish — Diversey Taski R4 alternative manufactured in India

Hospitality is a touch business. A guest's left hand brushes the wardrobe handle while she pulls out a hanger. Her elbow rests on the writing desk. Her phone slides across the bedside table. Every one of those contacts is a brand impression — and every one of them is the work of whatever furniture polish your housekeeping team applied during turn-down.

For a long time the answer has been Diversey Taski R4. We built UCLIPSE U4 because that answer can be improved on, both in finish and in price.

What R4 is

R4 is a ready-to-use silicone-emulsion furniture polish — a stable oil-in-water emulsion with dimethicone, surfactants, fragrance and a small amount of wax. Sprayed on, wiped off. The silicone leaves a low-friction, anti-static, deep-lustre film on wood, laminate, polished veneer, hard plastic and faux leather. Standard issue on every five-star turn-down trolley in India.

What U4 changes

UCLIPSE U4 Furniture Maintainer is the same emulsion class — same silicone backbone, same surfactant package, same finish profile — manufactured at our Gurgaon plant. Two practical things differ.

The first is emulsion stability. Cheaper polishes separate within four to six weeks in storage. A separated polish leaves streaks and the housekeeping captain has to teach the team to shake the bottle hard before every use, which they don't, which leads to inspection failures. We QC every batch of U4 for six-month room-temperature emulsion stability before it leaves the factory. The 500 ml trigger bottle on a hotel turn-down trolley reads consistent week six the same way it reads week one.

The second is greasy residue. Hotel housekeeping has been complaining for years about R4 leaving a faint tackiness on lacquered surfaces in high-humidity months — Mumbai monsoon, Goa year-round, Kolkata summer. We rebuilt the surfactant ratio in U4 specifically to dry tack-free above 70% relative humidity. We have not had a tackiness complaint from any of our humid-coast accounts in the last eighteen months.

What it is used on

Headboards. Wardrobe and side-table surfaces. Reception and concierge counters. Conference and banquet tables. Office desks. Lobby panelling. Restaurant tables, bar fronts, wooden bar tops. Showroom display furniture. Anywhere there is a polished or laminated surface that gets touched.

Avoid: unsealed raw wood (the silicone will sit unevenly), and natural marble (use a dedicated marble polish — silicone here clouds the finish over time).

Pack and pricing

500 ml trigger bottle for housekeeping trolleys. 1 L flip-cap. 5 L jerry can and 25 L carboy for central stores. Cost-in-use is roughly 35 percent below R4 in the Indian metro market.

How to evaluate

Take one 500 ml bottle. Polish a representative reception counter at end-of-day. Run your finger along the same counter the next morning. If it feels right and looks right, the conversation is over. Request a U4 sample bottle or call +91 93110 70085.
